Learning through cricket

Team building Yesterday, I went and played cricket. While it was a great way to boost my emotional skills and even cricketing skills, I realised when you are in a team, how important it is to contribute for value. Value through runs, value through bowling, and value through fielding. Even there I was able to have more depth to the conversations I had. I kept quite more than I spoke. In order to win a cricket game, firstly, you need to be really skilful at what you do, and secondly, you should also have great people skills. In the sense, that you only play a cricket game through good people skills. There needs to be more and more depth to it. If you think about it, Virat Kohli is what he is because of 2 reasons, one is obviously the skill that he possesses but also the aura that he carries along with it. It's easy to formulate certain techniques that this is how you should be able to get success. I mean technicality is extremely important. But amidst the technicality you also need t...

Simplicity, Effort, and Discipline: The Real Meaning of Hard Work

Image
It's quite an interesting thing that I want to write about hard work. My recent few weeks have gone well when it comes to hard and systematic work. I think systematic hard work is more sustainable and you would not really realize if you are really working hard, because the system is just working for you. So today, let's talk about hard work and how can we really achieve a hardworking system. We'll talk about food as well. Anyways, so let's start working towards this. Recently, I felt like I was working very hard and was not moving in the direction that I intended too. That's when I came across lifestyle centric planning and this was the way my discipline started to develop. It was so much that even when I am writing this blog, I wonder why am I writing it. One mind says that you should be doing something more technical. The other one says that just creating out of plain mind is equally important. So we will be going about the way we want to go with the quotes.  We ...

Great things take time

Great Things Take Time While driving through Atlanta one day, I came across a simple line that left a deep impression on me: “Great things take time.” At first glance, it sounds like a cliché. But when I look back on my own journey, I realize how true it really is. Nothing meaningful I’ve achieved has come instantly, it has always taken patience, effort, and faith in the process. The Pattern of Growth In college at VJTI, I spent my first couple of years completely immersed in sports. My grades were average, and I didn’t think too much about academics. But by my third year, I shifted my focus. I discovered better ways of learning, started enjoying my subjects, and my results improved significantly. The lesson? Once I found a method that worked for me and stuck with it, progress followed—though not overnight. The same pattern continues in my career. Like many, I sometimes find myself comparing my growth to others. Promotions and salaries can make you question your worth, and I’ve had...

The power of focused silence

Image
Recently, I’ve discovered the importance of silence. At first, I wasn’t comfortable with it. Sitting quietly with no words felt unnatural, even uneasy. But over time, I realized silence is not emptiness, it is space. Space for focus, reflection, peace, and growth. Silence has given me insights I would never have reached in noise. It has made me calmer, more thoughtful, and more in control. It has taught me that sometimes, the best way to connect with others, or even with myself, is to simply remain still. Comfortable with silence In the beginning, silence felt awkward. I thought conversations required constant words, that stillness meant disconnection. But I slowly learned that true comfort lies in sitting with someone without needing to speak yet still feeling connected. That’s the gift of silence. Silence also supports thinking and working deeply. Einstein’s theory of relativity, Newton’s laws of motion, these breakthroughs didn’t come in chaos but in stillness. Silence sharpens th...

Do less, do well.

Image
The power of doing less I was overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with the idea that I was blogging, working, meeting friends, not able to workout, and then blogging again and again and again. I was unable to sleep during the time. Moreover, I was reacting to everything that was happening around me. I would react if someone said something to me. I didn't have a reading block and would read at any time of the day. I would write at anytime of the day. A total loss of structure in the moment. This is when I came across the power of staying silent and doing less. I also read Cal Newport's slow productivity during the time to recognize that slow and steady was still better than doing too many things. I recognize that during the time I do a lot lesser things, I became focused at everything. The structure just came in. It became a way of life.  An interesting case study comes from Leonardo Da Vinci. While one might think that Leonardo Da Vinci would be doing multiple pieces of art at a time, Da ...

Focus: My best blog till today.

Focus: So focus is the topic that I am going to write about today. I have stayed focus for quite a long period of time this week. I have had focus blocks through which I stayed focused. Now the reason I thought it's quite interesting to write about focus is because I myself follow it very often. Last week I had around 1400 minutes of focus. The best part about focus is that I feel so good and happy after being focused.  Benefits of staying focused:  There are quite a few benefits of staying focused at what you are doing.  1. Increased Productivity: As one remains focused, its natural that they will feel more productive to get the important things done. This increased productivity will eventually make them more successful in life. One thing at a time. 2. Feeling happy: As you complete one task, you will feel that you did something hard today. This releases dopamine from your brain which will make you even happier.  3. Increased Confidence: When you complete one task,...
