In the moment we live

Stay in the present moment. I have been thinking about this for a long time. I don't really know how to be in the present moment completely. Everyone get's distracted occasionally, but my goal right now is to be in the moment completely. We all know that there is only one moment. That's the present moment, not the next moment, not the previous moment, just the present moment. The fact that I am writing something, it means that I am in the present moment while writing. It means that whatever I do, I am doing it in the now.

The moment is not found by seeking it, but by ceasing to escape from it. I feel like we all try to escape the moment sometimes by going into the past or the future. However, the current reality is the present and let that be the current reality. We want to be seeking the present moment and not the past or the future. Now what do I really mean by being in the present moment. I mean eat while you eat, study while you study, play while you play and that's the way to be happy and gay. Listen while you listen is also true. So go ahead and seek your present moment. Why do you want to be present? Present moment is all that exists. If your present is good, your future will be good. You will be able to enjoy things a little more. You will be able to find love in the present moment. You will be able to solve the problem a little better.

Why is it important to be in the present moment?
Because life is lived in the present moment. You don't know what the future holds and the ambiguity that it haves.

Why do you think you don't know the future?
Because life is all about the now and the how. We want to be happy. That's the main point of life and in love.

Why do you want to be happy?
Because it makes us feel alive.

Is being happy being in love?
Now, it's about doing the activities that you love.

Sports, mediation, football, cricket, whatever it is that you want to do. Do that. Because that will also keep you present where you are.

Now the next question is what are some more practical ways to be present in the moment?

Take a look at this wonderful quote. The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.  If I break this down into 4 parts:

1. Not to mourn for the past: Many of us live our lives in regrets, in what we have done wrong in the past and worry that the future won't be wonderful. I mean if you keep regretting or feeling sorry about the past, you will never be able to enjoy the present, and when you are not in the present, you wouldn't even have a wonderful future. So my dear friends, forgive your past, forgive yourself, forgive others, because that's the way you heal. That's the way you focus on the present and not the past.

2. Worry about the future: There are some people who are anxious about the future. They think that getting certain things by a certain age is extremely important or else life won't be good. I want to tell you all that you plan for the future but don't worry too much about it. Somethings will go your way and somethings might not go your way. There's nothing to worry about it too much. If you are in the present, that's all that you need to be in.

3. Anticipate troubles: A lot of people also anticipate what will go wrong in the future. I mean why do you even care about that? Joh hoga so dekha jaayega. Aaj mein jiyo, kal ke socho kal. Aur parso ki socho parso. Yes, you have to plan well and work well so that your future is not affected by anything. You have the real you. The world wants to see that you. Not this fake persona that you have. The world needs you, for your skills and abilities to motivate the world.

4. Live in the present moment wisely and earnestly: Sincerely live in the present moment, you might go left or right somedays. Being fully engaged in the now, whether it’s in work, relationships, or personal growth—enhances our well-being. It means appreciating simple moments, making conscious choices, and immersing ourselves in the task at hand with sincerity and dedication.

By embracing this philosophy, we reduce unnecessary stress, improve focus, and cultivate a more fulfilling life. It’s about trusting that by taking care of the present, we naturally create a better future while freeing ourselves from the burden of the past.

Action steps:

Mindful Observation (1-Minute Practice)

Take a moment to observe your surroundings—wherever you are right now.

  1. Look around and notice five things you can see.

  2. Close your eyes and identify four things you can hear.

  3. Focus on three things you can feel (your breath, the texture of your clothes, the chair beneath you).

  4. Take a deep breath and notice two scents in the air.

  5. If possible, taste something and fully experience one flavor.
