Stay busy !
Keep working at something. Staying busy is the key to life and every situation in life. I like the idea of seize the day my friend. In fact, I feel like the more busy you stay with something, the more happier you will be. After all, an idle mind is a devil's workshop. My question is why is it that important to stay busy?
1. Staying busy makes sure you don't get too many thoughts : When you are busy doing something, you don't get a lot of thoughts about anything in life. Good or bad, ugly or worst, you will be working at something all the time. Even if that's cleaning your room, you will be happy with who you are.
2. Less chasing, more being yourself: I have faced situations in life, where I have chased girls and the girls just run away when I chase after them. I don't want to get mad about them. I mean it's very natural for a girl to feel unsafe if the guy is too much into her. However, when you are busy doing something, you will not have too much time to think about the girl or the guy. You will just be busy with something or the other. You will say yes to a lot of events. You will meet new friends as well.
3. Mentally active: Being busy also keeps you mentally active. When you are busy with anything in life, you will be more mentally active. You will live your life fully. You will question certain things and be curious about life. You will have inquisitiveness about life and that's where you really want to be.
4. Keeps your mind healthy: Mentally active and keeping your mind healthy goes together, but we have to understand that being busy and having a bias for action really helps us in so many different ways than we can imagine.
Now the next question is how do we really keep ourselves busy?
1. Plan stuff: It's very important to plan. The more you plan the better. I have always said, engineers plan.
2. Stay active at home: My dad always says, "Haath fero raakho". Don't make cleaning an event, the moment you see something, put it in the trash and don't wait for the life to happen. If you need to iron the clothes, do that. If you need to organise your dressing table do that. But just do something. Be creative with your food as well.
3. Lift weights when free: I don't make lifting weights an event and whenever I am free, I lift weights.
4. Hobbies: Have some hobbies. I personally enjoy playing cricket and football. So I go to play cricket and football, and that's something that really interests me. I love meeting friends and playing games there as well.
5. Reading: You can also read books in order to avoid boredom. In order to avoid any negative thoughts popping in your head.
6. Music: Listen to music, write, paint, do anything your mind wishes but do something. That makes your mind sharp as well.
7. Volunteering: Volunteering is also a great way to be busy. You can teach at different organisations as well.
8. Learn a new language: I have been learning Spanish on Duolingo and you can keep yourself busy by doing something similar.
9. Analyzing & Learning from Great Minds: Explore leadership patterns in CEOs and famous personalities.
10. Work & Side Projects: Engage in challenging projects at work, contribute to open-source projects, or start a personal coding project.
The idea at the end of the day, is that the more you keep yourself busy, the better your life will be at everything. You will not have time to dwell on negative thoughts. In fact your thoughts will only be about the things that you wish to do. You can also learn sailing.
