Play your life like Kohli !

I was thinking of writing a character blog on Virat Kohli. And here we go. Let's take in some quotes from Kohli and see where we take it.

Whatever you want to do, do with full passion and work really hardship towards it. Don't look anywhere else. I really like this quote. I have seen Virat fall through and rise in his life. I have seen him work hard everyday for years. I have seen Kohli being passionate about the sport and celebrating a wicket like crazy. I have seen him really passionate towards the game and that's what I love about him. Now, when you don't look anywhere else, thats' what makes you, you. Let's consider an example, you want to improve your body. Now be passionate about going to the gym. Play that music. You will go far in life when you do something with full passion. Whether that's coding, whether that's studying, whether that's doing anything in life. Do it with full passion. Now, when Kohli says, don't look anywhere else. It means that you are not distracted by anything else in life. You are focused on one thing and one thing only. That my friends is life. You will reach heights you didn't think of. You will do great things without even worrying about anything. You will be what you are meant to be when you do that.

One exercise I usually suggest is that go ahead and work towards your goals and don't look anywhere else. Focus is the elimination of distraction. If you are focused you will achieve the goals you always wish for. I usually set timers for focus and then do the work. But I also enjoy the work a lot more during the time. You know what? When you are focused you will forget everything. You will forget your insecurities, you will forget that girl that ditched you, you will forget that guy never committed, you will forget that pain of losing your loved one, so go ahead and see what changes you are able to make in life when you are focused. Focus is doing less things and doing them really well.

Wow. So beautiful. If you're true to yourself. You won't fear anything. So so beautiful. I really like this idea of Kohli. when you're true to yourself, you won't fear anything. Now, when you break down this. What does being true to yourself practically mean. I think it's about living your own truths. Giving yourself the best shot at everything that you do. See the truth, speak the truth and most importantly work hard. It's easier to work hard and ask for a promotion. It's easier to be yourself and work hard and then ask for a promotion. So go ahead and live your truths.

Self-belief and hard work will always earn you success ! Honestly, how beautiful is this quote. I love the fact that you just said. Self-belief and hardwork will always earn you success. Imagine a man who works very hard but does not believe in himself, he will never be able to achieve the success that's required. However, if someone works extremely hard and also believes that he will succeed, he will always achieve the success that he always wanted. So, what we want to do is that believe that self-belief and hard work will earn us more success than anything else in the world. Believe in yourself, not on one day but every single day and you will achieve so much more success than anyone else.
If you expand this thought, think about the greatest of creators in the world. They will always create so many success stories. If Kohli never believed in himself, he wouldn't have ever become the person that he's meant to be. If anyone for that matter, never believed in himself or herself will never achieve the desired goals that he's meant to achieve. So go ahead and believe in yourself not today but always.

If you stay positive in a negative situation, you win. Wow, so interesting. He talks about times when we are going to have a negative situation, during the negative situation, what you want to do is that you want to think positive. If a girlfriend is lost, think you will get a better one. If a boyfriend is lost, think you will have a better one. If you lose a job, think about what's good about. You will find more time to discover your ownself. If you lose a cricket match, think about what you learn. Think about the positives of every situation. I recently had a bad time in a relationship. The girl that I liked a lot, I lost her. It felt like I lost a part of me, but I can't keep dwelling on that. I need to keep moving forward. So the lessons I learned are to communicate well next time, give attention but don't become emotionally invested on her early on. She should be a part of your life and not every mood of her is your responsibility unless she is your wife. Learned to praise and respect the woman in my life. I learned that having a clear idea on the end goal is just as important as providing value. So well, what's important is what I learned and how do I keep moving forward from that point.

Now the question is how do we stay positive in a negative situation all the time ?

🔁 1. Reframe the Situation

Ask yourself:
👉 “What is this situation trying to teach me?”
👉 “How will this make me stronger or wiser?”

Even the worst moments come with a hidden opportunity or lesson. Train your mind to seek that out.

✍️ 2. Journal Your Thoughts (Even if It's Messy)

Write what you’re feeling without editing.
This does two things:

  • Clears the mental clutter.

  • Gives you clarity on what you can control vs what you can’t.

Pro tip: End the journal entry with one small win or gratitude thought.

🧠 3. Use Mental Contrasts

Yes, things are bad, but could they be worse?
This isn't toxic positivity. It's perspective.

Example: “I’m stressed about this job project… but at least I have a job, and I’ve handled stress before.”

🧘‍♂️ 4. Breathing Technique (2 Minutes Max)

When negativity hits hard, stop and try: 4-7-8 breathing

  • Inhale for 4 sec

  • Hold for 7 sec

  • Exhale slowly for 8 sec
Repeat 3 times. Your nervous system will calm down fast.

📵 5. Cut the Noise

When things are bad, protect your mind:

  • Mute negative people.

  • Stay off social media (even for a day).

  • Avoid overanalyzing with 5 different people.

Sometimes, silence is healing.

🧩 6. Focus on Micro-Control

Ask: “What small thing can I do right now?”

Maybe it’s replying to one email, taking a shower, or going for a walk.
Regaining control in small steps builds momentum.

💬 7. Talk to Someone Who Lifts You

Not the one who says “omg that sucks” and pulls you deeper.
Talk to the one who reminds you of your power and gives you a new lens.

🌅 8. Visualize the Other Side

Take 2 minutes and picture:

  • The situation resolved.

  • You coming out stronger.

  • You telling someone how you handled this like a champ.

This tricks your brain into hope + action mode.

🎯 9. Stick to a Routine (Even Basic One)

Negativity breeds chaos. Discipline brings back control.
Eat, sleep, move, clean—stick to basics.
The routine grounds you when your emotions try to spiral.
