A still mind

There is something beautiful about beginning a new journey with the words “A Still Mind.”

It feels gentle.

It feels hopeful.

And perhaps it asks all of us the same question:

What really makes a mind still?

Lately, I have realized that stillness has become important to me. Life moves quickly. There are goals to chase, work to do, people to meet, games to play, books to read, ideas to build. The world is moving all the time.

And yet somewhere inside, we all want the same thing:

A little peace.

A little calm.

A little space to breathe.

For me, stillness does not come from doing nothing.

I have energy.

I love sports. I love movement. I love writing. If that energy stays trapped, my mind becomes louder. But when I play, when I write, when I move, something changes.

The noise slowly becomes clarity.

The mind slowly becomes quieter.

And that made me think.

The Ocean Taught Me Something

Have you ever stood in front of the ocean and simply watched it?

The surface moves.

Waves rise.

Water dances.

And yet somehow, the ocean still feels peaceful.

Why?

Maybe because the ocean is deeper than its waves.

That thought stayed with me.

Deep waters often look calm. Disturbances may happen at the surface, but the depth remains untouched.

Perhaps our minds can become like that too.

Life will always create waves.

A difficult week.

A missed opportunity.

An unexpected challenge.

A moment of self-doubt.

The waves will come.

But maybe peace is not about removing the waves.

Maybe peace is remembering that we are deeper than them.

You Do Not Need Less Energy

One thing I am learning is that stillness does not mean becoming less alive.

You do not need less passion.

You do not need fewer dreams.

You do not need to become someone quieter.

Sometimes stillness comes after expression.

After the run.

After the game.

After the workout.

After writing your thoughts onto paper.

After laughter with friends.

After giving your energy a place to flow.

A river stays fresh because it moves.

Maybe humans are the same.
